A charging environment instead of a wall socket

Charging is the moment the Dutch fire service's public information campaign focuses on, and in a workshop or storage room batteries often sit unattended next to each other while doing it. A charging locker turns that around: every battery gets its own lockable compartment with its own charging point, separated from the battery next to it.

In practice, insurers set conditions on how and when charging is allowed, for example only with the original charger and only while staff are present. A fixed charging setup demonstrably shows you have arranged for that. Check your own policy schedule, as the conditions differ per policy.

Standards and certification

No product standard is stated for the lockers themselves. What does come into play is PGS 37-2, but note: that guideline is about how storage is arranged in your building, not about the product you buy. A locker can therefore never be “PGS 37-2 certified”, however often that is sold as such.
