The hand that picks up the battery
Anyone who has to move a warm or damaged battery, to an immersion tub or outside, touches it. Temperatures above 600 °C have been measured in battery fires, and even a battery that is not yet burning can already be too hot to pick up.
These gloves are tested against mechanical hazards (EN 388) and thermal hazards such as contact heat, radiant heat and flame spread (EN 407), on top of the general requirements in EN ISO 21420, the standard that has replaced the old EN 420 since 2020.
